Argh… I love… England the music, the fashion, I’m seriously thinking of overthrowing it someday… Scarlet Overkill: Do you know who this is? This is Queen Elizabeth, ruler of England. The Minions (Kevin, Bob and Stuart) embark on this heroic mission and after much hassle, they find the perfect one and deliciously it’s not a he with intimidating biceps and all, nope, she’s a sexy female – Scarlet Overkill! (voiced by academy award winning Sandra Bullock) And from then on, minions and super villain intrigue their audience with the most memorable conversations ever, which goes a little something like this The Minions unlike most humans appear unassuming and desiring little out of life, however when it comes to one thing –finding the “meanest- baddest- boss” there ever was, (not to kill him or subject him to torture), but to serve him, the standard can never be compromised for the little creatures. Simple bubbly yellow creatures (The minions) greet our screens and we are welcomed to a whole 91 minutes of humorous gibberish, prevalent “villainness” and enchanting silliness. With its outstanding record at the box office, “crossing the $1 billion mark and officially grabbing the second spot of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, replacing Pixar’s much-loved 2010 movie “Toy Story 3”, the highly anticipated prequel to the Despicable Me franchise no doubt, does animated movies proud.
Funny, you know the saying that man never truly feels complete unless he at last fulfils that incomprehensible irresistible urge to find some sort of “god” to worship? Well, “Minions” does a hilariously perhaps relatable reflection indeed!
